Our Story
Relevant Record Café opened on Mill Road in Cambridge in November 2014, founded by husband-and-wife team Andy and Angie Powell. Built on a shared passion for music, the shop quickly became a place for vinyl lovers to discover new music and revisit classic records.
The Beginning
Relevant began as a combined café and record shop, bringing together two passions – great coffee and great music – in one welcoming space on Cambridge’s vibrant Mill Road.
Over the years the record shop in the basement developed its own loyal following. Today, the record store continues as an independent vinyl destination for music lovers, collectors and casual browsers alike.
The focus has always been simple: great records, knowledgeable staff, and a relaxed place to explore music.
Present Days
The record shop is run by Andy, a lifelong music enthusiast, regular gig-goer and dedicated record collector who always dreamed of running his own store.
As an independent record retailer, we pride ourselves on offering a carefully selected range of vinyl covering everything from new releases and reissues to quality second-hand records.
